Genelec Wraps Successful IBC 2026 in Amsterdam
Genelec brought a range of broadcast and OB monitoring solutions to IBC 2026, held in Amsterdam from 11–14 September, welcoming visitors both indoors in Room 10.E106 (Hall 10) and outdoors aboard the 120dB OB Truck (0.A40).
At the heart of the indoor showcase was an immersive 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos system featuring the recently introduced 8380A SAM™ Main Monitor alongside The Ones coaxial point source monitors and dual subwoofers, delivering full-range reproduction for broadcast and post-production applications.
Visitors also had the opportunity to experience Genelec's UNIO Audio Monitoring Ecosystem, combining Smart Active Monitoring (SAM) technology, GLM 5 software, the 9320A Reference Controller and Aural ID Application 2.1, giving engineers a single trusted monitoring reference across locations and workflows. Alongside this, Genelec demonstrated its AoIP system management solutions, the Ravenna-based 9401A and Dante-compatible 9402A, enabling flexible connectivity and centralised system control for modern broadcast
infrastructure.
Throughout the show, the Genelec Room hosted a series of presentations from industry experts. Donato Masci, CEO of Studio Sound Service, explored how AI is raising the bar for broadcast studio design. Thomas Valter of RTW led two sessions on immersive metering and dialogue intelligibility measurement, while Felix Krückels, Broadcast Sound Engineer and Professor at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, gave an inside look at remote live sports mixing in Dolby Atmos.

Taking the Genelec experience out of the room and onto the road, the 120dB OB Truck brought a fully operational Dolby Atmos mobile recording and broadcast facility to IBC, complete with Genelec monitoring. The 120dB production team and Genelec hosted daily demos, giving visitors a chance to step inside, turn up the volume and see immersive audio on wheels in action.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be IBC without a casual catch up! Genelec hosted Happy Hour sessions, giving visitors a chance to meet the team and continue the conversation in a more informal setting.
