Genelec is proud to work in collaboration with MediaSoundHamburg as they host their 11th annual international summer school of film scoring, game music and sound design, which will take place at Hamburg's Hotel ibis St. Pauli Messe from the 14th until the 19th of June.

The event's diverse educational programme is set to include around 25 masterclasses and a range of workshops that offer professionals the chance to learn from and network with seasoned industry experts. MSH is also opening its doors to the wider public by hosting a series of film screenings, concerts, and a couple of special events centred around the promotion of women in the audio profession, which is a core theme of MSH's operations.

As part of our collaboration with MSH, we're delighted to add that Genelec has awarded a scholarship of €2500 to young Audiovisual Sound Designer, Nayuribe Montero Jiménez, from Costa Rica. Nayuribe, whose application highlighted the need for greater female representation in the audio industry, was selected from a strong group of 33 applications from 22 different countries. Congratulations, Nayuribe, and a big thank you to everyone else that took part!

Our very own audio expert, Eric Horstmann, will be giving a presentation on the 17th of June at 11:00 CET entitled 'Basics of immersive audio and the professional use of loudspeakers'. During his lecture, Eric will outline the different immersive audio formats and explain their application - covering everything from loudspeaker layouts to relevant production tools. He'll also share his expert knowledge about using loudspeakers to precisely reproduce sound in any configuration, from stereo to immersive - exploring topics like room acoustics, loudspeaker placement and system calibration.
